About WRCF
Wildlife Research and Conservation Organization is a non-government organization founded to conserve wildlife and habitat. Inculcating scientific is a step towards our mission. Our motto, Retchrawun is to conserve the nature. We engage in conserving the wildlife through various measures such as engaging with local communities by conducting awareness programs, scientific events, workshops, educational field trips, engaging with policy makers and stake holders. Our activities so far have focused majorly on highlighting the biodiversity of Jammu and Kashmir, its protection and conservation.
The organization has been actively working since 2014 which eventually was registered as a non-profitable trust in 2018 and is currently based in Kashmir. We have engaged with schools in the fringe zones of various protected zones in Kashmir and educated them to know more about the landscapes inhabited by wildlife close to their localities.
Our targets also focus on mitigating human-wildlife conflict by understanding the root cause, thereby benefiting both. We also aim to focus on the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife for the wellbeing of animals. Establishing a close liaison with the concerned departments, capacity building and emergency relief operation training for frontline staff and stake holders are among few of our targets.
No work done is alone and for that we are open for like-minded individuals, institutions, and organizations to work together for the same cause.
